Character Development Workshop: I Turned My Teacher into a Creature

Overview:


In this workshop, children will use their imagination and creativity to transform their teachers into creatures. Students will create monster characters based on traits that might annoy their own class teachers. Throughout the workshop, children will learn about characteristics and how they can influence character design. These creations will be placed within a story framework where children can decide on the ending. Additionally, they will learn drawing techniques and color theory to bring their creations to life.

 

Suitable for: KS1 and KS2 children
Duration: 45 minutes

Workshop Objectives:

  1. Foster Creativity: Encourage students to express their ideas through character design.

  2. Teach Characteristics: Help children understand how traits shape character development.

  3. Enhance Artistic Skills: Introduce basic drawing and color techniques.

  4. Promote Literacy: Develop storytelling skills through the creation of narrative frameworks.

Materials Needed for Kids:

  • Sketch Paper: For drawing their monster designs.

  • Pencils and Erasers: For sketching and making adjustments.

  • Colored Pencils, Markers, or Crayons: For adding color to their monster creations.
